Hello & thanks for stopping by!
I hope you're enjoying the site so far.
‘Laura Tallon’ came into existence around seven years ago, after eight years designing within the creative industry in both agencies and publishing houses (and a brief episode in interiors…). I'm currently based in the ever-inspiring city of Manchester, after many years in London and the South West.
I was lucky enough to study in the beautiful Cornish town of Falmouth, and it really helped me to decide that as a designer, I wanted to do good, and help people and the planet wherever possible, rather than work for big corporate clients.
I’ve worked with a lot of wonderful charities, individuals, small business and enterprises over the years, and I like to think that my design skills have helped raise awareness, educate and inform as much as possible,
Past clients include The Prince’s Trust, The Big Issue, The National Aids Trust, UNESCO and The Association of MBA’s, along with smaller businesses such as Salad Pages, Bear Hugs, Jodi Goldman and The Real Therapy Room. All of these people are doing really inspiring, worthwhile things and I’m proud to have supported them over the years.
I love to create order from chaos, I’m very adaptable and reliable – and I’m pretty cheerful too! I like to look at projects with a calm but imaginative mindset and create something positive that the client is proud to use.
I’m a predominantly print-based designer - layout is my strength - and have lots of experience in editorial design (magazines, brochures, leaflets, booklets, stationery) but am also well versed in working with digital designers to bring the work to life, and can create animated gifs, editable pdfs and the like as needed.
I love to use illustration wherever suitable, and alongside the design work, I create bespoke paper-based illustrations, which you can find out more about at paperhawk.co.uk.
If you have a project or idea that you’d like to discuss, I’d love to hear from you!
Thanks again, Laura
